     Codes and Conventions

CODES:

Speech- This is the way that dialogue is spoken on the show. This can be anything such as the pitch and volume of a voice.

Music- This can help to set the mood, tone and setting of the scene. It is essential in radio due to the lack of visual cues for the audience.

Sound- Without sound, the listener would only hear silence. This can be useful when used for dramatic effects, but if it goes on for too long the listener will disengage and turn off.

Silence- It is mostly used in Dramatisations, but can be used to signify the ending of a scene and as a break in dialogue.
